Kate is a painter and mixed media artist based in Petaluma, Ca. She received a BA in creative
writing from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. and moved to San Francisco where she studied
painting at the San Francisco Art Institute. During her nine years living in San Francisco she was
a member of the Mission Dolores Studio Artists and participated in the San Francisco Open Studios.
She has shown her work in the Bay Area as well as in Segovia and Madrid while living abroad in Spain.

Kate uses chalk pastel and graphite on archival, hand-made paper and wood. 
The compositions and colors of Kate’s abstracted still life and landscape paintings are inspired by her long-held affection
for the color and texture of the natural world. Her recent paintings are rooted in between Sonoma County, California
and Jalisco, Mexico.
