Kate received a BA in creative writing from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. and moved
to San Francisco where she studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute. During her
nine years living in San Francisco she was active in a group of studio artists in The Mission
Delores and participated San Francisco Open studios. She has shown her work in Bay Area
as well as in Segovia and Madrid while living abroad in Spain.

This new series “Vistas” uses pastel and graphite on archival, hand-made paper and wood. 
Her paintings of land, sky and trees are inspired by the color and texture of the natural landscapes
of Sonoma County, California and Jalisco, Mexico.
